Question Why do I get SPAM?
i am talking about the 'email SPAM' and not the edible kind.

Follow some of the tips here and reduce the amount of spam you get.

At the very bottom is links to reporting agencies and more resources.

If you want to post your email address in a message for a targeted audience, there's a pretty effective way to do so. Just use an image file and include it in the post, for example:

jd, I dunno for sure, but I think John is saying that the spiders, etal. have maybe a more difficult if not impossible time to attach and find an email if its embedded in as an image w/in a post. Human eyes can still get the email addy's, but the automated devices should be foiled via this method.

If you have a website that gives your email address, encrypt it into the html, and put in a graphic link only with no text of your real email address, that way people who click on the graphic to email you or even harvesting bots get only the encrypted version which looks like gobbledy gook. It worked well for me on my old website. Here is a place you can have your email address encrypted and just copy the html to your site pages coding. Of course, check it by sending yourself an email from the link on your site to make sure it's correct.
