Attaching a avitar
Hello everyone,

I was just sent a avitar by a friend that I would like to put on my profile or other sites. When I right click the moving avitar what do I do next? I'm sorry for being such a newbie but this is my 1st or 2nd post on this site. I feel this question is maybe to easy for this site. Could someone walk me through in layman's terms? Any help would be welcome.

Hi wslandry,

Ok, to install your Avatar...

You must know where your Avatar is located
(in what Folder? e.g. My Pictures, etc.)

>Go to top of TSG page and find User CP (Control Panel)
>Click on User CP
>On left side of page find Edit Avatar and click on it
>Scroll to bottom to Upload an Avatar From Your Computer
>Click Browse
>Go to where your Avatar is located
>Click on your Avatar
>Click on Save Changes
>Your new Avatar should be installed

Pretty much the same in most other Forums.

You can only pick from the Avatar's that are there till you have 100 post.
After you have 100 post then you can use a custom Avatar.

Your welcome Telstar.

Plus when you are able to upload your own custom Avatar you need to get the size right as it says maximum size of your custom image is 50 by 50 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
Don't know it says 50 by 50 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller) because you have to be within both of those limits.

Harry: You don't have to have 100 posts to post a custom avatar since Mike upgraded to VB3!

Thank you Angelize56

Just wanted to say I love both of your quotes in your signature. One of my favorite search engines is Answers.com and when I entered "Philo of Judea" your in the first search line. I had to laugh! Next surprise card I stick in my wife's purse before she heads off to work will be from "Philo of Judea". We have been married for 15 yrs and I'm always looking for something to make her day. Nothing like a loving happy women on your hands.

Welcome to TSG by the way wslandry! Thanks for the nice post! So I'm first under "Philo of Judea" eh! Your wife is lucky to have such a thoughful, loving husband such as yourself! Let me know how she likes "Philo"! There's nothing like having a loving, happy man on her hands either! Take care! angel

Harry: You're welcome!

Just in case you have a GIF image that is too large and your avitar gets denied due to its size, you can access a free online GIF editor at:

http://www.gifworks.com

You have to upload your GIF image, edit it to be 50x50, and then save it back to your system, then you should be able to upload it to your techguys profile.
