This tip is not only for beginners....... Outsmart spyware with System Restore. Simply running System Restore, which seems to undo just about anything for most folks. Here's a neat video at Insider Secrets:

It works great unless you stored a virus in a restore point! Then you just restore the virus...

Kind of like going in without the proper protection in the first place. I have always found the system restore to be hit or miss anyway. I always have a Ghost image of my default config for such occaisions....that have NEVER happened.
