One Microsoft Security Bulletin Coming Next Week

by Scott Bekker

May 5, 2005

May will be a light month for security bulletins from Microsoft. The software giant plans to release only one bulletin during its monthly Patch Tuesday next week.
The security bulletin will affect Windows and the maximum severity is "important." Microsoft says the bulletin will not require a restart and the update will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA).

Microsoft also plans to update its Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool on Tuesday, but the company does not plan to release any non-security, high-priority updates for Windows on that day. Microsoft began including non-security updates in its Patch Tuesday process last month.
