Heres a good trick for all you gamers out there without a powerful PC.

Creating Extra Profiles, which will not load some drivers you dont necessarly need during gaming.

This will work in all version of Windows.

>Open your Control Panel, and click on System.
>Click on the Hardware tab
>Highlight the Profile 1(current) and click copy, then supply a name (any name is sufficent)
>Hit ok and ok and now reboot.
>When you reboot select the new profile you created.

>Now go back into your control panel and click on system.
>click on Hardware profile, click on Device Manager
***now what you want to do is disable drivers you dont need during game play

Here are a list of common drivers you can disable which are useless during gaming.

Printers
Printer Ports
Com Ports
scanners
fax/modem (if you dont play multiplayer on dialup)
Digital camera drivers
External Drives and devices

To disable a driver, double click on it, when it pops up, at the bottom scroll down menu and select disable.

Also,

Start > run > "msconfig"

Click on startup Tab>
***Now you can click on programs you do no wish to load when your computer boots.

****This will increase the performance of your computer, however doing this will not hold to the Profile you created, it will effect every profile...

Last thing,

Doing this last step is more technical and can cause problems with certain programs not working properly. This also will effect every profile, not just the one you created.

Control Panel, right Click System, Select manage.

>click the + next to Services and Applications
> Highlight Services

You can double click a service in the window on the right and stop the service and click disable so it wont restart.

List of Recommened Services to Stop

Alerter
Clipbook
Computer Browser
Error reporting Service
Event Log
Fast User Switching
Help and Support
Messenger
telephony
telenet
themes

Any other Devices use with caution.

After All this you should be able to notice better video performances with refresh rate and glitching.

Before you try any of the above situations, try to do the normal....

Proper Defragment, Disk Cleanup, Cleaning History, Add/Remove Programs you do not use, Add/Remove Windows Components you do not use, and Spyware Searchers.

Good Luck!!!
