A problem solver search.
This I'm sure is nothing new for some, but for others it worth repeating.

Do yourself a favor and Google or Yahoo search "weak bios battery" and then "weak cmos battery" ! Some of you maybe surprised at just what problems this battery if weak causes. Even the experts don't know them all!
A weak one may not even cause your time clock to loose, but cause other problems instead.
A dead one is a little more obvious in most cases.

In case you miss it,keep in mind that when you buy a new computer you have no idea how "old" that battery is. The new one may only last a year, hopefully more but ya just never know. A replacement should last several but again how "old" is it. Ck that out before you buy.

These batteries are cheap fixes and for the most part easy to replace but understand how to do it.

When I read the problems posted in these threads ie; various error messages. lock/freeze ups. repeat shutdowns, and even complete failures,
I can't help but wonder if it's not that little dime/nickel size battery trying to tell us HEY! I'm tired and I'm about to call it quits!

For those of you that go on vacation or ? and shut down etc only to return to find a pute that's cantankerous, keep that little fellow in mind as while you were gone it was having to do more work for a longer period of time!

Just a heads up.
