If your like me, the CapsLock key is nothing but a nuisance that I never really use except by mistake. You can disable it by using an old Microsoft W95 utility call Keyboard Remap. Though it says it's only for W95 it works fine with W98, too. I've been using it for close to a year now and was tipped off to it by JimHolly.

From JimHolly but slightly modified,

"This is one of those things I did when I first got onto this computer craze over two years ago. Get a copy of the Kernel 95 Power Toys, and install the Key Remap item, (it works great in Win98, too.) This will enable a tab in the Keyboard ControlPanel icon, that will let you define any or all of the four main keys on each side of the keyboard which includes the CapsLock key to something else like Alt".

GREAT!!

I had to go to "README.TXT" in the list to get the instruction to rt click on KEYREMAP.INF to install. I also noticed the Wintop running program thing on the list that I installed just the other day from another post on this site.

I'm finding that it takes all my time looking around all the threads on this site because I'm afraid I'll miss something that I don't have time left for my genealogy and photo scrapbook projects.
