When I was at our school lab years ago, I found a 35K program that puts the "X" button (like the one on the upper right corner of a window) on the taskbar. Clicking the "X" on the taskbar closes all active programs, although it does not close ICQ for some reason.

I found it very useful when there are multiple browsers open, or when I ACCIDENTALLY fall on those adult websites No java code that opens numerous windows can catch up with this program.

I have been using it for more than two years now, but I still have to test it on Win2K this coming Tuesday.

If any of you guys are interested, e-mail me since I do not know how to upload the file here for public download.

AirPolgas,

Yes! It's a very good tool. Fast! "Click-Gone-Everything-NOW"!(A real time and effort saver)

Thank You.

AirPolgas,

Great program! Small, and with the click of a button, all open windows close. I'm starting to sound like an info-mercial , but it is a cool app!

Your e-mail address didn't work for me either. I was going to tell you about my situation. I got CloseAll and think its great too! I dragged the shortcut from the desktop to the quicklaunch to make it handy. I clicked on it and nothing happened, but an "x" appeared in the system tray. I clicked on the one in the quick launch and a box came up and said "CloseAll is already running". I clicked on the "x" in the system tray and everything closed out OK. I deleted the one in the quick launch and both went away. I restored the one in the quick launch again with a shortcut from C:>Win>CloseAll.exe and went through the same exercise to make it work.

So now I have an "x" in both places and merrily use the one in the system tray to close everything out. Do other people have it like this or am I peculiar?

I have Win98 with updates.

I just have a shortcut on my Start Up folder, so at the beginning of each session, I have the X on the system tray, other that that, I do not see the program itslef on my session with my pc.

Thanks. I dragged my extra "x" from the quick launch through start>programs into a "Seldom used programs" folder I have and now everything works from the "x" in the systems tray just like everyone else's.
