MP3 Editing
Does anyone know of the easiest way to 'cut' a piece (say 90 secs) of music from an MP3 file and save it as a separate file? Or even better take 90 secs from around forty different files and save the pieces as one large file which could then be burned onto a CD?

I have looked for a program but most seem far too complicated (and therefore expensive) for my simple purpose. Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated, thankyou.

There a tonne of ways to go about doing this. I use Sony SoundForge, but it's expensive and likely more program than you actually need. Have a look at MP3DirectCut (unfortunately I haven't been around long enough, so the forums won't allow me to post the url) which is free and easy to use. Likewise, MP3Cutter is another alternative. Short of this, it is possible to dump mp3s into Nero and chop out the parts you don't want. Right click your mp3 in Nero and select properties and then the Indexes/Limits/Splits tab. From there you can zoom in on the song and easily chop the parts you don't want. This will take a little patience, but isn't exactly difficult.

Hi there,
I use a program called adobe audition..(cool edit pro like). It is fairly easy to do if you are lucky enough to have someone give you a live tutorial and can get hold of any editing software!!! I found recently that online tutorials from a mate on another pc, talking me through each stage via a pair of microphones was helpful............

good luck!
