Something Frisky This Way Comes.
For WinME users.
Probably for Win98 ones as well and
Maybe for Win2000?

Hi,

Please don't ask me how or why or what but this has an effect:

On your desktop right-click in a vacant spot - up pops the menu for Display Properties. Press the Effects tab and, if you can stand losing a little glitter, a little high-colour in your icons and goodness knows what-else (I haven't found anything besides the icons and the frame of a dragged item ghosting along behind the real) un-check all the items, you may find the friskiness of which I write. It is there alright. Performance enhancing I'd call the effect. Found it here:

And for the rank newbies a gif.

An Update. With no help from me and with the Effects check-boxes all remaining unchecked my desktop icons have reverted to their usual colour. The "frisky" remains.

Cheers
