Good low-end system programs
Helpin a guy cut down on system resources so he can play with photoshop AND listen to music on his little 700mhz machine. Came up with a list of software that might not look pretty, but it does seem to not bog his machine down.

Media Player. Foobar 2000
Chat. Trillian better than msn+aol. still quite a bit though.
Anti virus. Nod32
