building laptop?
could someone tell me where I would go to get laptop parts to build one? I use microcenter mainly for my pc parts but would like to try building a laptop but can't find parts. Any ideas would be appreciated

Ehhh...might be close to impossible to source all of the parts. You could go on Ebay and buy all of the parts to build a brand name laptop.

Personally, I'd forget about it. Each laptop us a unique design, there are no "generic" laptop cases, motherboards, etc.

I'm curious as to why you feel the need to roll your own, with all the laptop bargains that are around nowadays.

After 7 weeks of headaches trying to build a laptop I'll Never try it again!

I suggest you look for a more realistic project that you can say "I did it" about, this one is a loser.

Well, I suppose that can't is too strong a word, but it's sure not cost or time effective.

Actually, I just read an article on this at AnandTech. Mostly talks about the difficulty of upgrading a laptop.

Building a laptop is a major headache...it is near impossible to find all the necessary parts on the internet. I gave up on that idea.
