Icons with no TEXT/NAME, just pure blank
This is also included on my site, www.TECHTIPS.co.nr

I'm not sure if everyone will like this trick, because it will clear the name of the icon chosen, not all of the icons! just the ones you want to be JUST an icon, w/out name.

You can do this by renaming the icon (right-click then "Rename")

Now, press and hold alt then followed by 0160

or simply alt + 0160

that's the alt code for BLANK, so if you do this, the icon's name now is just blank, no name.

That's why I only use this tip on my desktop, to make it look clean, like the Recycle Bin, My Computer, Firefox, My Documents, just the icons that are easy to recognize, and I don't recommend it to be applied to all your files, because you'll 'never' recognize your files again. So I recommend all to use it on their desktop only.

The recycle bin doesn't have the 'rename' option? I tried this tip but it still leaves a name box, albeit with only a - in it. Is there a way to have just the icon.

Do the registry trick I posted before so the Recycle will have a Rename option when you right click on it, the thread is over here:

http://forums.techguy.org/t413442.html

after you've done that, try to rename it, and hit alt + 0160
