Find real web address
If you feel sometimes you have been misdirected to a fraudulent web address and you want to check whether the website you are viewing is actually the one you intended to browse to and especially if you are making online purchases or accessing your bank details, then while you are on a particular website copy and paste the line below into the Address bar in your browser. Then press Enter. It will immediately show you the actual URL in a separate window. If the URL doesn't tally with the one you thought you had browsed to then exit immediately.

javascript:alert("Real web adress:" + location.protocol + "//" + location.hostname + "/");

Sorry if it seems that way but I didn't get the information from any Tech Guy thread. Info like this is not unique to this forum, but apologies if anybody feels their tootsies have been trampled on.

To anyone who is hesitating in sending in any Tips/Tricks because you feel you might be accused of plagiarism, I say send it in anyway, you will have my moral support. Anyone who accuses you is obviously guilty of the same unless they can claim to have invented or created the said Tip/Trick and I don't see any such claim being made by anyone here. It's free information in the Public Domain and everyone should realise that.
