It is not entered as "rand=(some numbers)" it is entered as "=rand(p,s)" where p is the number of paragraphs, and s is the number of sentences of "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." that you want.

The lead character is the equals sign "=", just like when you enter formulas in Excel.

I did mention this, in the "Tips & Tricks" forum, back in January of this year. It has been in Word for many years. I find it useful to fill out a lot of text in areas, to see how formating (page layout, line ends, etc.) appears.

Once you press the Return, and the "The quick ..." text appears, you can scroll around and look over the results. You can then just press ^Z (Ctrl+Z) to undo the "quick" text.

Can't find it in Word XP. I typed "=rand(20,20)". T.T

It is there, I have done it on my Word XP (2002). There are a few requisites.
You have to have it on a new line;
it must be the only thing on the line;
there can be no spaces between any of the characters; and
you must press the Enter key after the closing parenthesis (the ")" ).

Try it again. Try it in a new blank document (it does not have to be in a blank doc, but it might be something in your current doc that is screwing it up).
