Solved: Looking for Composition Software
I'm looking for some freeware that I can compose and print sheet music on. I have searched all over the 'net for some, more than once. Everything I've found either just creates MIDI's and can't print music or isn't freeware. Now I'm turning to you guys; have any of you musician types found anything that works?

Thanks so much.

While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely,
Crying out to the moon, "If only, if only."
"If only, if only." The moon speaks no reply
Reflecting the sun and all that's gone by.
Be strong, my weary wolf, turn around boldly.
Fly high, my baby bird, my angel, my only.

Not just yet. I've tried the cakewalk series with some of the creative sound boards, but it's
not quite there....(The more advanced version says it prints out in score, but not this.)
I think I'll keep looking..

http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/
That site has several possibilities, including Songsheet Generator v2.3.1.4
The writeup says its "donation-ware" to get rid of ads you register and make a donation.
Anyway that hitsquad site has a lot to read thru for a musician (which I am not)

you might wanna check this out
http://www.noteserver.org/....looks like it creates a keyboard on your 'puter, and when you play a tune, it posts the music in a "text box"

Freeware you say? Well here's a crazy idea ... maybe you could get hold of a free musical font (http://simplythebest.net/fonts/fonts..._symbols.html), then use it in an app with the ability to vary character height with a view to printing onto "music paper".

Nah ... on 2nd thoughts, that's just too crazy.
