Tip: Reducing Firefox Memory Usage Temporarily
If you notice high memory usage with Firefox, i.e. firefox.exe in Task Manager, e.g. mine was about 79,300 or more KB, then this tip will help to reclaim memory when the Firefox window is minimized. Note: surfing will increase it again, so the effect is temporary. Now, mine is at about 30,600KB surfing here to TSG from my home webpage.

Type "about:config" in the adress bar.
Right click inside the window and select new boolean.
Enter "config.trim_on_minimize" and set to true.
Restart Firefox for the new setting to work.
