I have posted many threads but I amnot sure how to post a screen shot without cutting and pasting it to a word document. That way I have the white page around it. Any instructions? | | Distinguished Member with 12,142 posts. | | Join Date: May 2005 Location: Kokomo, IN Experience: More Input Please | | What is your default Image viewer ???
Windows Image and Fax viewer ... by chance ? | | Senior Member with 777 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: UK Experience: I used to know stuff but I've slept since then | | Press print screen then go into paint, select edit and then paste. Once you have done that you can "save as" and place the pic where you like. Remember to save it as a JPG though or your pic will be too big. Just upload the jpg for your thumbnail. | | Moderator with 12,424 posts. | | | | Hi lschul
Download Irfanview www.irfanview.com it's freeware, you can save your screenshot as a .jpg file and post it here without using a word document. | | Distinguished Member with 12,142 posts. | | Join Date: May 2005 Location: Kokomo, IN Experience: More Input Please | | Just another vote for Irfanview.
It's very popular here at TSG .. Come join the club.
But - I suggest using a gif format for Screen Shots ...
They're cleaner images and smaller file sizes. | | Senior Member with 1,660 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2001 Location: Rocky Mountains | | Yes windows is the default, I have used irfanview before, maybe I can try that again. THanks all! | | Distinguished Member with 12,142 posts. | | Join Date: May 2005 Location: Kokomo, IN Experience: More Input Please | | Welcome back.
I replace M$ Image n Fax with Irfanview.
It's been so long since I've used Image n Fax .. I can't remember what all it can't do.
If you need some initial Irfanview setup suggestions ... see here .. If you want to do more than just a screenshot then Irfanview does seem to be popular at TSG but I've never used it myself so I couldn't say.
I guess it's just down to each persons personal choice at the end of the day, I prefer to keep 3rd party apps to a minimum to keep my PC running smooth and therefore stick to Windows if I can. | | Senior Member with 1,660 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2001 Location: Rocky Mountains |
