Firewall conflicts
Hello... I'm using XP home with Zone Alarm firewall. I assume I need to find all other firewalls and shut them off to avaid conflicts, the only other one I know about is the Windows firewall. Are there other ones that come standard with programs such as AOL that I need to search for?
Thanks.

I think AOL is now offering free virus and firewall software which is probably McAfee. The other possiblity might be Norton. Look in 'Add/Remove programs' to see if you have either one installed. If not you should be fine with Zone Alarm.

Make sure you also have virus scan software installed. If not AVG is a good free one. You also need anti-spyware, Windows Defender and others.

I used to have zone alarms firewall and didnt like it, seemed to cause too many problems. Delete it and get AVG virus protection. And just use your windows firewall.
