When I seen "Top 10 Windows XP Tips Of All Time" it caught my eye....

Tip 6: Force unresponsive applications to close at shutdown. Is very helpful John...
Thanks!

I was all excited when I saw Tip #4.
My thinking was that I could set a custom display resolution of 1024x819 to fix the distortion problems for a 5:4 aspect ratio 17” or 19” lcd Monitor

Or .. even a 1024x640 setting to fix the horrible distortion a friend has with her 8:5 Aspect Ratio 21” display.

I’ve played with my Registry settings … and nothing seems to change the Computers Display setting.
Anyone have any Ideas ???

Frankly, I was somewhat dubious about Tip #4, I have difficulty believing that will work.

Thanks John, I was always thinking that scince i got my laptop and its a retail and even though i gutted the software out and loaded my own setup, I always that maybe my system may be a little steep on processes. Right now i got firefox running, aim, and musicmatch jukebox and im running 75 processes . Between that and using mcafee security center i think that explains the slow boot.

2 of the 10 tips in that site that I use:

10: Reduce the number of Services running on "Automatic".

9. Reduce the amount of hard drive space that is being used by System Restore.
