Ever get annoyed at the click sound when clicking on links?
Well, I am and I`ve finally found the culprit. It`s called start.wav
I`ve deleted it and I can now surf noise free. lol

Actually, I guess I am one of the wierd ones. I have had a lot of sound problems in the past. Now that all is good, the clicking is actually kind of comforting to me. A gentle reminder that all is still good.

Now, if I could find a way to stop all sound from my tower, that would make my world complete.

Hi.
I actually should have did a little more tinkering before posting that message. Although deleting that file stops the noise, I`ve found a better way perhaps.
Under `sounds/multimedia` in the control panel, you can select each sound and then choose `none` from the drop down for the sound to stop the particular sound, if you want. Mine also has a slide volume control to turn off/down/up the sounds of everything completely.
I have Win ME but If I remember correctly, 98 had similar options to do this.

All you have to do to eliminate the clicking when you click on a link is this,

Start>Settings>CP>Sounds. In the Events box, scroll down til you see "Start Navigation" and the highlight it. Now in the "Sound" box select "None" and click on Apply. You can do that for any Event.
