Remove Flash drives before installing XP.
Just a funny story that happened to me the other day. I was reinstalling XP and had my flash drive plugged in. When XP asked me where I wanted to install windows, I had two HDDs show up on the list, but as I saw it, for whatever reason, I thought I had two partitions to choose from, so I deleted the small 1 gig partition. After the install and poking around I realized that I had formatted my thumb stick, and the system directory was now E: instead of C:

DOH!!! Nothing important was lost on the thumb stick, just the drivers I was planning on using. But I'd like to remind everyone to remove those flahs drives before installing windows.

Hell, my system won't even boot properly with a FLASH drive connected, so I'm always reminded.

The stupid new BIOS versions are too smart for their own good!
