Invalid Vxd Dynamic Call from Vsdata95
Hi All!

I just spent a near frustratin 2 hours not being able to get into Windows 98, due to the error messages I was receiving at startup. The error messages kept saying that I could fix the problem by running Windows Setup.

Setup would not run from Hard drive, and booting from Win CD was not allowed as OS was already on the system.

I was facing a possible format and reinstall.

I just wanted to let you users of ZoneAlarm know that it caused this problem. I am not going to stop using my ZoneAlarm, but if you ever get this error message, try booting into Safe Mode and using the bundled Zonelabs uninstaller first. Reboot, and you should be able to go directly into Windows. Once that happens, reinstall ZoneAlarm, and you should be OK.

This is the Knowledge base article on it:

Here is the link to Zonelabs with further links for Win95, Win98, and WinME:

YIPES! Randy. Was this after a new installation? Or did it creep up over time? I've only been using ZoneAlarm for a week now.

I'd been using ZA for over a year and upgraded recently. This occurred right after I deleted my Dialup Netweorking and Networking properties, and rebooted.

I am still going to use ZA, but the fix for this is relatively easy, and wanted to save anyone else the hassle of trying to find it on their own.
