TV Problem - Screen Turning off, within seconds of turn on!
Whenever I turn on my Philips 32" TV [Non widescreen, HD, or flat], after a few seconds the screen turns back off. But the power light stays on. And I'm forced to turn it on again and again until it seems like it finally wants to stay on. This only occurs after the TV has been off for awhile and is "cold". So its almost like it has to warm up before its able to handle it. Is there a way I can fix this, or does anyone know what's wrong? Thanks

The possible causes are many, but all indicate that a component has deteriorated to the extent that the characteristic is marginal for operation.

Usually it would be a capacitor or a resistor, so that gives you about 500 possibilities.

There is simply no way that it could be remotely diagnosed any closer, but if the sound continues with the screen black, its in the horizontal deflection/EHT section most probably, if not it's probably related to the power supply section or literally any of the dependencies, the interconnection via complex protection circuitry can be very hard to locate the exact source.
