home receiver cleaning
hello all. I have an older onkyo receiver (sv90 app 15yrs old) and it's starting to play tricks on me: rear sound surr speakers don't always come on when supposed to. It is usually necessary to crank up the power to punch thru to normal operating levels.
In the old old days (pre pro logic) this usually indicated dirty contacts which could be cleaned with compressed air. This receiver is, however, 2nd gen. prologic, and i've never had the cabinet open.
Any suggestions? thanks

First step, open the case and look around. Maybe it's something obvious...

Onkyo? Wow man good stuff. I have an onkyo tape deck here that is at least 25 years old and maybe 30. It still plays like a new one. I have had to adjust the heads one time and that is it.
