Screen Cleaner
I have an LCD screen that has many hand prints (courtesy of my grandson). What is the best way to clean it without damaging it?

I use a 25% solution of 99% Isopropyl alcohol with 75% water. Use ONLY a soft cloth and lightly dampen it with the cleaning solution. Do NOT use any paper product of any kind, and don't allow the cleaning solution to get behind the bezel of the LCD.

I've cleaned dozens of them this way without any damage. However, heed the cautions about letting the solution get behind the bezel, that can render the display inoperative. And if you search here, you'll find out what happens if you use something like a paper towel, it scratches the surface, and there's no fix for that.

Do not use the 70% Isopropyl alcohol, it contains oils and other ingredients.

I use glasses cleaner on a soft hankachief, it says on the back that it contains just isopropanol, and I have heard that this is an effective cleaner.

I've been told that 100% alcohol may be a bit much for the screen material, and some commercial cleaners have a formulation similar to what I described, so I figured that was safe.

For several years now I've used a product called Klear Screen for my laptop, pc computer and LCD TV screen. It's available at computer products stores or through klearscreen.com web site.

Once again, me neither.

I use Clearview Gel by Allsop. It is a gel that comes in a spray bottle. You spray a little on the screen, it doesn't run because it is a gel, then you wipe it off. It works pretty good.
I don't know why they can't just add a layer of glass over the screen, it seems like a simple solution.

I've always used a slightly damp microfiber cloth, one half damp, other dry and it cleans up my LCD screen just as good as cleaners. Water/microfiber=cheap and effective! Then on it goes to wiping down the rest of my equipment since I'm already at the computer.
