I need tips!
Hi, theres nothing really wrong with my computer except I cant play Team Fortress 2. That is because I suspect that my computer is finially getting to out-of-date and slow for newer games. Is there any tips that can speed up my comp? I'd prefer the cheapest because I plan on getting a new computer by the end of the summer. Any and all computer improving tips welcome.

your using xp right?

1. remove programs you dont use
2. remove programs you dont need immediately from your startup by typing msconfig into the run box and then click the startup tab
3. update your drivers
4. do a disk cleanup
5. do a disk defrag
6. scan your hard drive for errors by right clicking on your hd in my computer and selecting properties>tools then click error checking.
7. scan your computer for missing windows files by typing sfc / scannow into command prompt
8. run your games on lowest settings
9. overclock your hardware (only if you know what you are doing and you are definently upgrading when you say you are)

I'm probably forgetting things, and there is probably heaps of other things you could do that I don't know, but heres a good start list.
