What Data security recommendations?
Lets say you have a business and you want to keep information totally secure. Aside from having the vital data off-line and using encrypted pen drives, what other things should you be doing?

When you create your system, allocate a separate partition/file system for your data as opposed to your OS.

That way, because you keep a backup of your OS (updated as required), you can recover quickly from either a crash or a security incursion, and your data will not be affected, because you keep a separate backup of it.

From a practical standpoint, I'm doubtful, from listening to numerous experts speak on security, that any system that's online can be 'totally' secure.

I keep all my family financial information off line, in a computer that has very limited access by others.
About the best I can do for myself.
Naturally, a business may need that internet exposure.
So, perhaps you need security advice from an expert , tailored to suit your needs.
