Solved: S-Video question
Any tips and tricks for s-video slot? Or is it only for the purposes of connecting to a TV with s-video capabilities for the purpose of having the TV as a second monitor? This may seem like a stupid question but can I connect my PVR receiver and use my laptop as a monitor to watch programming via the s-video on my laptop?

Well, my laptop is an Acer TravelMate 2480 with Vista Premium. And my PVR is ExpressVu model 5800. I was just wondering about the s-video port that my Acer has, that's all... and just killing time while the computer that I am working on is scanning.

If the laptop has viewing software than you should be able to view the S-video input (is the S-Video intended for input or output?)

If you're using the s-video as an output check the Display Properties -> Settings (tab) and check the configuration set for your video card output(s).

I didn't find any viewing software and after looking through the configation settings for my video card (which is not the best card, btw) I have come to the conclusion that the s-video port is only intended for output. Thanks for your input
