Perhaps the whole message will refresh your memory. I refer to the Nothing's really ever permanently erased. (spelling errors removed). If you really don't have time to be correct, I don't know what I can say.

There are five things you could do safeguard any personal information in your hard drive. Let me share what I did to my old hard drive last year:

1. Low-level format it. The best way to snuff everything on your hard drive.
2. Download the Ultimate Boot CD (www.ultimatebootcd.com) and run them HDD-wiping tools there.
3. Take it to a rifle range. I shot my old hard drive (previously used in my friend's auditing stuff) with a .30-06 Springfield bolt-action rifle. Take aim at the spindle motor, shoot the platters and the logic board. The end results are irreversible.
4. Keep the old hard drive and buy a new one.
5. Let me ask you a question first: How may gigabytes the old hard drive has? If it has 4gb or something larger than that, delete all the stuff there, keep it and put it in your present computer as a slave drive. If you're using Windows XP, move the pagefile (aka the virtual memory) from the C:\ drive to the old one. This gives your computer an additional oomph! because your primary HDD controller doesn't have to bothered by Windows always.
