Question Inserting shortcuts of my choice
I wonder if someone has a tip about how to do this...

So, given any application on your PC, go to File > Open
and the application will open up an Open File Search Window.

You have a column of 'Look in' Shortcuts along the left side of the search window.
These shortcuts include...

History
Desktop
My Documents
My Computer
My Network Places

Is there a way to customize these search windows? I want to replace a few of those shortcuts with my own choice of shortcuts.

Possible? Impossible?

You can put shortcuts above the bar on the main menu, and you can simply remove the ones you're customizing from below the bar.

You can do it by editing the registry, but an easier way to do it is get Tweak UI, a microsoft powertoy.

Then go to Common Dialogs > Places Bar and click on 'Custom places bar'.

I never realized that TweakUI did this, learn something every day.
