Firefox add-on: mouse over and decide to visit a link or not
I don't know about the rest of you, but I run Firefox 3.0b5 from Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Hardy Heron, and I have over 60 RSS feeds. I'm very happy now that all of the RSS feeds load as compared to the previous version of Ubuntu, i.e. Gutsy Gibbon v7.10.

When I visit TSG, I have a new Firefox add-on that helps me decide whether I want to visit a thread or not - it is called Interclue. I have sent them some feedback that they are using too much real-estate of the status bar to display their icons and where they have redundancy in the selections - they can only get better, and I was able to configure the number of icons displayed on the status bar to two - I'm sure it will improve.

As an example, when you mouse over the last post pointer of a thread from a forum, a small window pops up and fetches the post - very convenient. Although you can't see the previous posts, if it is something I feel I want to post a reply to then I visit the thread, and if not, I don't need to waste any computing resources linking to the thread.

This works out well for me and my surfing habits - I don't visit near the number of web sites I used to, and it helps me conserve my time spent surfing.

I'd recommend Interclue and RSS feeds to anyone using Firefox that wants to save time surfing.
