Innus.co.uk(not currently online!) Hi-I hope that no one minds this type of question... but is Online windows update able to detect copied versions of either Windows Me or Xp?

Thanks!

Don't know about XP, I think if its a corporate license version you're ok, ME is fine, you can use a copy of a copy of bill gates' personal copy and no-one will ever know!

i dont know about win98SE? but im sure win2k is detectable ... i talked to some network engineers who tell me that if you have a bootleg copy of win2k or detects bootleg licenses on client computers, or if the win2k server detects that its an illegal version, then the server wont work correctly and give you problems on purpose ....
