Going green; energy consumption ideas?
I work for a company with about 1100 computer users. I have recently been asked to give some ideas for "going green" as I am one of 2 computer support specialists.

Please base your ideas on what we can do with laptops/desktops, and leave out anything about data centers/servers.

What ideas do you have?
Here are 3 I have;
- We have a policy of ordering a new keyboard/mouse for every order. Why? Let's cut back on the keyboards and mice (they don't ship standard with a laptop), save the plastic and save the electronic junk inside
- Order eco-friendly power strips. There are power strips specifically designed to be sure that the computers are not sucking any power after you turn them off. Many estimate that they pay for themselves within a year
- The most obvious, but also the easiest for a user to change; changing power settings in the control panel.

Any more ideas?
