F4 Trick
For anyone that did not know this trick, you can simply close any active windows by pressing Alt+F4 key on your keyboard.

What is the difference between this and Alt+F4 (which is used to close those pesky, full-screen browser windows)? I think the Alt forces the window to close, but not sure.

On my winxp computer

F4 opens up the history for the address bar in Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer...but not Firefox.

alt F4 closes an active window .

I've been using Alt-F4 for years to close active application windows.

On my XP machine, using Opera, alt+F4 closes the entire browser. F4 alone pulls down a taskbar type of thing on the left side.
