Close window at defined size.
Resize the active window using the mouse... to save the new screen size and position hold CTRL as you click the EXIT window button.

You have to make sure you are closing the LAST IE window that way, and it CAN'T be maximized. You have to size it to full size if desired but NOT maximized, then close it.

It works with MS Office programs. Should it do the same with web pages?

It does for me, again remembering that it's the LAST instance of the browser to be closed that determines the remembered size.

It works on most applications, though I've had systems where they would occasionally "forget" what size I set.
