There used to be a piece of software called "form filler" or something like that. As I recall, you could take a scanned image and then indicate places on it for entries.

I couldn't find it when I searched around...

Scansofts old Paperport 8.0 has a 'form filler' that rocks. Not sure about later versions, but use mine often. It auto finds form blanks and also allows manually locating if the auto feature doesn't get them all.

That's the one I think I was remembering! I had a version of that at a client's location, it was pretty slick and we used it for creating forms from paper copies.

I use it frequently and then convert to pdf to email as .max files are usually rejected by most server AV (or any executable file). The Adobe Acrobat Pro form filler is a joke compared to Paperport's. You'd think at the price they charge, Adobe would be the cats meow.

Somewhere around here, I have an older CD for Adobe Acrobat Pro, I think 7.0. I seem to remember not being impressed with the forms capability either. Since I don't really need the power of the full package, I uninstalled it and never used it again. Using the free PDF printers is all I really need and they're so much more convenient. Adobe stuff is so resource intensive...
