If you are trying to install AVG8 (the paid for copy), and it stops with the following message...

Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avgtdix.sys: starting service....
Error 0x80070014

A possible problem is that you have "Ad-Aware" installed. Remove it and you will probably find that your AVG8 install will then succeed.

Being a paid version I did receive AVG tech support but all they gave me was the standard "AVG Fee" software remover to properly clean the free version away, which did not work. I pumped them for further support but there was no reply - (I hope they are reading this).
