boot disc
what is a boot disc?and what is it used for? when i bought my machine i had to copy 4 discs to reload windows xp if something ever goes wrong is that what a boot bisc is?i am confused

A boot disk boots a computer into a usable environment. The first disk of the set is probably bootable which means you'd start up the computer with it if you needed to run the restore.
