just an fyi if anyone else has had difficulty installing AVG and then losing IE connection and then needing to go through Restore...........took a while but I finally learned that even if you can't uninstall Norton Internet Security and other Norton stuff that you can download the uninstall tool from them and elsewhere.

I ran it and it took out the Norton just fine. I think downloaded AVG 8.5 and finally it installed fine, was able to update just fine and I'm now in the process of doing a full system scan.............yay.

The Norton Removal Tool, which you should get directly from Symantec to insure you have the latest version, is an indispensable tool for dealing with Norton.
