DOS Title
I use DOS windows quite a bit and I was most pleasantly surprised to learn this new trick the other day.....

How many times do you have multiple DOS windows open and have to flip between them to determine which is which.. and the one you want to be working in... HMMM????

At the DOS prompt type TITLE titlename. The titlename will then appear in the header of your DOS window!

See.. you can teach an old dog new tricks

Hi Leslie,

I tried your suggestion, but it did not work, I just got "Bad command or file name" when typing in "Title test" or anything else in place of test. I am running Win98SE.

Are you in a DOS window?

It works for me in Windows 2000.... maybe it's an OS issue

Yes, I'm in a DOS window, silly woman!
Just thought I'd let you know that it isn't working for me in Win98SE.

The other system has Win 2000, and it works there, so it must be an OS thingie.

Thanx for the tip anyway.

giggle... I meant as opposed to a DOS full-screen mode

I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks... just give her a new operating system
