A+ certification questions...HELP
Hi all,

I just joined this forum as I want more information about the A+ certification. A little background about myself, I just graduated from print technology management program, during my co-op term, I worked as a field technician and an analyst for a print equipment company, which I work extensively with commercial/office print equipments, computers, servers, network and integrating these technologies to the company's network. Company such as Xerox, Canon, Ricoh, HP, etc.

My program only focuses upon the print equipment itself, and skips the IT side of things, which is mostly required for the jobs I want as a technician, analyst, etc. Correct me if I am wrong, but I have done some research and found that an A+ certification would be best to start off. So now, my question is, should I take a prep course from a local college or just self study using a book? If I do go to a local college for the prep course, approximately how much will it be, any recommendation around Toronto? If by self study, what book or CD would you guys recommend?

Thanks,
Ken54321

this guy does a great job. It is what I would recommend if your not experienced enough to take the test yet.

I took a course, because I needed it for my degree, but this book did better than my course of explaining the things you need for the exam.

ken,
welcome to tech support guy,
you could do a google - try something like: cert practice questions
and read through some of them
- 1] would give you an idea of a lot of the certifications available
- 2] give you some idea of what questions are asked in each cert
- 3] and what specific field you need more study in

might surprise yourself with how much you already know
