Reloaded Win98 and lost monitor colors
Hello I have reinstalled win. 98 and I can't get my computer to get my colors right. It will only allow 16 colors no matter what I try to do. I have tried installing a whole bunch of drivers for the NEC monitor I have and also wanted to install some for the video card driver. It doesn't work still. Right now I tried to have the adapter working on the Super VGA driver that it has in store. Didn't help allthough it will say it has 256 until you try to get it to work then it converts right back to 16 again. Can anyone help me. I know that it should work since it worked before. I just can't remember how I made it work before or if I had done anything. Well thanks for any help you can give me towards this problem.

My operating system is Windows 98 SE and my monitor is NEC multi sync A5OO it says it has the driver in my computer now but when I install it. It will only let me use 16 colors. Thanks Bob

mountain,

it isn't the monitor that controls the amount of colors it is the video card so you need to make sure you have the latest driver for the video card you are using.

Also, if you are still stuck then I would suggest having this post moved to Windows 98 as you may not get the help you need posting it in Tips/Tricks.
