The easiest way is to download and install End-It-All.

Just so you know, the site that Brushmaster directed you to no longer has EndItAll available.
You can get the new version from here:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,697,00.asp

And the 'how to' guide begins on this page:

He was talking about simple occasions, not great victories: maybe drinking lemonade on a hot afternoon in the shade, or smelling the aroma of a nearby bakery, or fishing and not caring if we catch anything or not, or hearing somebody all alone playing a piano really well in the house next door.
Uncle Alex urged me to say this out loud during such epiphanies: 'If this isn't nice, what is?' "

Jcapstick:

Just out of curiosity, how many listings do you have when you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open the Close Program box, and how many listings do you have checked when you click Start - Run, type MSCONFIG, then click OK - Startup(tab)? I suspect that your startup load is a bit heavy.

in a word:
prolly
you can check the items in your startup list against this list - it's entries are updated regularly and will give you info on each regarding startup suitability.

20 is too much of a startup load. I've only got 5 - 6 items running in both my 98SE and XP computers. Davey gave you a good link to check out.
