Lightbulb Ie.5.5 + Opera= "crazy"
How would you like the good bit's from IE and OPERA.. All in one.

Well some one's done it and called it "Crazy Browser". It's small, it's Fast and it's realy good....and it's...."FREE" .

IE.5.5+ is the standerd browser out there, but it's a we bit slow.
Were as Opera is fast and has more options, but not all site's will work with it. Well that's were "Crazy Browser come's into it's own.

I'm not going to try and explain why.. it'll take to long, but give it a try. I'm sure you'll like it.

Have fun kids.......LooY (",)

Well I used Opera with no adds and I think Netscape is faster still. Maybe Opera is faster if you turn off the adds and images and that but if you want to load the page with them I thing the speed is about the same. I have been so use to netscape using other Browsers is like writing with my left hand. I am right handed so it is easy to write with the right hand. So if I don't see real good true speed then why change things.

I tried this one here also. No install is need either. But I did not like it.

I think this is just a case of what you get use to...everyone I know that started with netscape is still using it, and can't stand ie...same thing for those that started with ie.

coupla features in this crazy browser I like, but the tobar's to big, and I can't make it as small as I can in ie.

also, when I launch the thing, it won't go to my home page on launch

also, I use adshield, which is by far the best add blocker, much better then the internal blocker in crazy, and I don't think I'll use any browser again without adshield...trying this as an experiment I guess...still hewee...do you notice how there just is no feedback on this site...it's very frustrating, so thanx for your posts, they are a pleasure

Well, I use I/E6 Netscape 6 and Opera 6

I use I/E most of the time as it works with all sites, slower, but more reliable than the others.

I use Opera second, it is blazing fast, especially when you use the forward and reverse arrows, plus the F12 key gives instant control over pop-ups and cookies. I also like the "delete private data " tab in the file menu, one click and you are clear,

Netscape I rarely use, sometimes just to play, but I really don't like the interface, and it seems harder to set-up to me !

I guess Opera would be my favorite, followed by I/E, then Netscape. If Opera can get their browser to work at all sites, it would be WAY out in front.....Hmmm, just noticed a new version is out...maybe, just maybe...this time it's done ...Rhett

perris,

Your right about using what we start out using. MS won the battle with Netscape.
I wonder if speed is effected any by your ISP. Mine is pacbell and they use Netscape if you get software from them.
Don't think that has anything to do with but I don'r know either.

I just never stayed with Opera very to get the hang of it. What to use what I am used to like you said.

the back and forward buttons are fast because the browser is using cache instead of reloading the page...you can set ie to do the same...as far as adds, there really is nothing better then adshield, and that doesn't work on anything other then ie.

here's an example of what adshield does, and why I need to use it.

when an add is blocked, the area that the add took is shrunk to 0x0..which means the you have more content on your browser page...for instance, I can block the huge logo at the top of this page, (it's a gif that can be blocked), and I have on my page about an inch more content then you do

that's the main reason I don't think I'll switch browsers

Aside from the adds at the top ( I really don't mind them, I have a 19 " monitor, so still plenty of screen) Opera is just faster.when I go here: http://members.toast.net/leslie/testpage/testpg56.htm which is simply a modem test page, Opera opens it 1/2 to 1 second faster than I/E on a consistent basis.

I am not sure if DSL or Cable would make a difference, but when your stuck with dial-up...time matters ....Rhett
