Embedding sounds in Outlook Express
Just learned this and thought I'd pass it along-

Embedding music/sounds into Outlook Express:

To do this: open up a new message and select the 'format' button at the top, now, ensure that you have 'rich text html' checked (this won't work with 'plain text')

now, in the same 'format' tab, you'll see a line that says 'background', click it, then click on 'sound'

browse your hard drive for the desired sound (remember, the bigger the file the longer the download, and some email clients don't accept huge files, so be discriminate!)

Follow the prompts and there you go!

neat feature...eh?
I've been adding a sound effect or two to some e-mails for a while now....neat effect....you can even make your own voice announced wav with sound recorder and add that...( " Hi Mom "...etc )
...but here is a strange one regarding this feature. As of late my Dad says he can't hear the embedded sounds. If I attach them, then they play ok. He got an e-mail that had an embedded midi and it played ok.( some kind of scripting?) Wonder why he can't hear the wavs anymore? ...some security setting he may have changed that prevents things from running automatically? ...very strange.....
