Best size for temporary secondary hard-disk?
I'm just starting an IT techo business.

When I take a client's PC, it is a good practise to Ghost the hard-disk's contents .. "just-in-case".

A good way to do that is to attach another hard-disk to the system, usually as primary slave, and Ghost onto that. But with the big HDs these days, even relatively new mainboards BIOSs can have probs recognizing drives.

So before I buy a HD for this purpose, I am wondering what the experience of others is. What is the best size to buy? Ideally, What's the biggest size HD which could be added to a Pentium I system without requiring a BIOS upgrade?

For example I know that 40 GB can cause probs even with a relatively new board (certainly 80 GB can have this prob). 10 GB shouldn't, but then it might be too small to hold the Ghosts.

Your thoughts and experience please.

thanks

Sounds like you need multiple drives.
