Hello Steve,

Thanks for the link - I downloaded their temp cleaner while at the site. Just off to see how it works.

Hello again cybil

I found the program OK. It just cleans temporary files. Here's the link.

http://www.glocksoft.com/temp_cleane...e=TempCleaner2

I also use use this one from Toni Arts (but I don't meddle with the duplicate files setting as I'm not experienced to know about those)
http://www.toniarts.com/ecleane.htm

And the other one I use is one I've paid for. VoptXP (to use for Windows98 as well as XP, etc.). It defragments, optimizes your swapfile, cleans all the typed URLs you enter into the address bar when you want to find a site, cleans cookies, temporary files,
web content (files that are downloaded to your computer when surfing to make the web page open faster), history details, etc.
It has a "clean restart feature" to use to close programs before you defragment. Take a look at it for interest, even if you don't want to pay for it.
http://www.vopt.com/download.htm

Hope this gives you something to be going on with.

Bye

Thanks T2, I'll check them out. Am curious about your name - are you an Agatha Christie fan?

Hello cybil

Yes I am. Like her books. But my name is Penelope so Penny.
My dad always called me Tuppence or Threepence. When I joined the site there was already a Tuppence so I became Tuppence2. Is there an Agatha Christie book with a character called Tuppence? - my memory grows old, along with me!!

Hope you find something to suit you regarding the programs.

HiT2
Ahh, there's no such thing as growing old, just older.
Yes, Christie wrote some stories about Tommy and Tuppence. As I remember, they're quite funny - quite different from her usual. Haven't had time yet to check out the progs.
Have a good day

G'day cybil55,

Thanks. Tommy certainly rings a bell. I'll look next time I go to the library. Take care.
