Need to accurately set your time? Have Win2000 or XP?
Most of us know about the w32time service in 2000 and XP, and getting those errors in event log because an Authoratative time server could not be found.

Recently, I have had the need to make sure that our Windows 2000 machine that controls our time clock is set to atomic time. I had tried a couple of programs, and they did not synchrnize automatically. So I set to find a program that did work. What I found instead was a good document on using the builtin w32time service in 2000 and XP from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

I am including the link to the .pdf document that I discovered that describes the process, along with the link to thier page.

Note, this is best for those people that have a full-time connection, others that do not, would probably be better off with one of the programs that require manual updating.

I've been using AtomTime (HERE) for a long while - it's perfect for me. I use the old freeware version - it now costs $10, but it's a great little app.
