x box 360 no sound on hd
Hi Not too sure if i am threading this in the right section so apologies if wrong.
I have just purchased a new hd ready lcd tv for my sons x box and i can,t get any sound via the hd.
I have since tried a hd dvd player that i have with just a standard hd cable and this works fine with sound so i presume the tv is ok.
I have tried it on the x box lead and switched to hd and again no sound.
If i plug the x box in another hd tv i have with just a standard hd lead the x box works and sounds fine.
I have got intouch with the manufacturers and they say if you have plugged something else in and the hd works ok then the tv is ok.
All i can think of now is that the tv in hd is not compatible with the x box ??.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

x box 360 no sound on hd
I have tried all different setting now and with no joy on the sound.
If i unplug the hard drive from the x box the sound works fine on hd which is confusing as when i insert the hard drive the sound goes off.
All i can do for now is run the x box on a normall scart thats not hd but the picture isn,t as good as hd as this is what i bought a hd tv for.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and yes i have the hd cable which has a switch on the side to switch to hd. I have tried it with this cable by plugging the blue green and yellow ones in but i have only one audio out jack on the new tv so i can,t plug the red and whire ones in as well.
I have since bought a standard hd cable which plugs into the x box hd slot and then in the tv hd slot and the picture is great but no sound.
I tried the same connection on another tv and the picture and sound is perfect just with a standard hd cable so i thought it was the new tv at fault but it works on hd with just a dvd player its just the x box that won,t work on sound with the new tv.
If i unplug the hard drive on the x box the sound comes on (very confusing).
I wanted to take the tv back but its hard because they say their is nothing wrong with it.
